In order to succeed as a truck driver, you will want to make sure that you take care of your body as carefully as you maintain your rig. Over the long miles of an extended journey, you might start to experience aches and pains. With a few simple exercises, you can stay in shape on the road while also alleviating any discomfort that you may be experiencing. Let’s review some easy roadside exercises for truck drivers.

Push-Ups

Performing a round of push-ups at every rest area will provide you with a workout that can be even more effective than hitting the gym. When you do a pushup, you will be using body weight resistance to work out your arms, shoulder, chest, and core. To achieve the best benefits from your pushup routine, you will want to make sure that you are using proper form.

Sit-Ups

Sit-ups are extremely effective in blasting belly fat and creating strong back and abdominal muscles. If you are new to performing sit-ups, you will want to start with a basic routine. As you get stronger, you can incorporate weighted sit-ups, leg lifts, and other advanced exercises into your routine. The interior of your truck may provide you with plenty of space to get a few sit-ups in every morning.

Walking

Even if you are not an avid jogger, getting in a brisk walk at every rest stop will dramatically improve your fitness and health. Experts recommend that adults take at least 10,000 steps every day for optimal cardiovascular health and fitness. Making slight adjustments in your routine, such as parking farther away in the parking lot, can help you get more walking in.
